Beautiful photograph Dutchbaby and apropos for the season! Finally, I know when we will be in Nola. Unfortunately it won't be on a weekend. We will be there Nov 2~4 at the Hotel Monteleone. Even so, we will see if the Jesuit Church is open for prayer. So sorry for the chance to meet your George! Any chance that you might be there too? We are going to Herb Saint. So happy! A GREEN pumpkin! And why not. We're treating ourselves to fried green tomatoes on Thursday when we drive to nearby Juliette to eat at the Whistle Stop Cafe (from Fried Green Tomatoes). How fun is that. Oh, and I've got a package all ready to mail to you, as soon as we go by a post office this week. :)
I remember your post from last year. There was such a great display of attractive and original pumpkins. You put me in the mood you know. We are going to see our grandchildren in Nashville – maybe I’ll buy a pumpkin and try to carve one this time – it must not be easy.

The Giants World Series victory parade was this morning; I'm still pinching myself. I'm so sorry your Braves couldn't stand up to the mighty Giants. Thank you for being an honorable bettor and sending my winnings. I am going to be the hero this Sinterklaas when I can produce the proper chocolate letters for everyone in the family! Thank you, Ginnie!!!
Dear Marilyn, Yes, I own a boxful of glass pumpkins. A few are hand-blown like these, but others are mass produced in molds. I love displaying them at this time of year.
Dear Ruth, I've never been there during set-up, but I imagine it would be quite a production. Every year there are more participants and more pumpkins. I've only twice attended the frenzied last day, sale day. I did see a couple of pumpkins break then.
