Dear Ginnie, Yes, these were typical in the Norway country-side. They are often hand-painted with scenery by the owners. I will publish a couple of them the next time I'm in between posts.
The picture looked familiar ,then I saw it.I live in Balestrand.I am on my way to San Francisco and California in May.I know I will see the same in your country !
