Implied fireworks

My favorite Katharine Hepburn movie of all time is "Summertime", where she played an American spinster who travels to Venice and falls in love with (sigh) Rossano Brazzi:

In honor of New Year's Eve, I present you with a scene with old Hollywood's way of getting around the sensors by the use of, shall we say, implied fireworks:

Wishing you lots of fireworks this New Year's Eve!

Oh, I laughed when I saw that you were a Katharine Hepburn on your last post (and wrote to congratulate you but then Blogger ate my comment). So I knew it would only be a matter of time before Rossano Brazzi made an appearance here too!

Happy New Year, dear dutchbaby. I hope your year ahead is full of wonderous things. xoxo

Dear Dutchbaby, Happy new year!! Know that as I list my blessings of 2008, your name is often on my mind. I love you, my friend. What a blessing it is to know you.

I love Summertime too!

Reminds me that years ago, hearing I was about to visit Verona, Italy, a
friend instructed me to take a bus to Venice, go to St Mark's Sq, meet Rosanno Brazzi, have a romance, get back on the bus and return to Verona.
When I returned I had to report that nothing happened except I had enjoyed a nice day in Venice. His disappointment was alleviated when I told him I had had better luck in Florence.

A long time ago. Thanks for the sweet silly memories.

Happy New year!!

Dear tangobaby,
You know me too well! Rossano Brazzi sends my heart a pitter-patter!

I wish you a great 2009, tangobaby! May your year be filled with love, perfect photo shoots, lots of travel, and adventurous posts!

Dear Relyn,
Isn't it just the most amazing movie? We watched it just before we went to Venice and I'm so glad we did. It was the perfect preamble to our trip.

Happy New Year to you and the rest of Team Lawson. You enriched my 2008 in so many ways; you are one in a million!

Dear CC,
Thank you for sharing such a great story! We had plans to go to Verona but we couldn't tear ourselves away from Venice. We just have to go back!

Happy New Year to you, Carolyn!
