in a way, i find it quite appealing !:-)
This was not meant to be a real wedding cake. Cypress Grove Cheese company created this beautiful and creative display for the Fancy Food Show.
I love the idea of a Brie wedding cake!
Yummmm! What a clever idea.
I love cheese and I love Brie – Brie from Melun, Brie from Meaux, Brie de Coulommiers and all the other Brie from the brie area in France which is Seine et Marne where my cousin lives, but brie in a cake – I don’t think so. It is good that this is just a make believe cake. I also had some real good Brie from Canada – it should not be called Brie though since it is from Canada, but it is good anyhow. I also enjoyed looking at all your pictures and love those on the white decorated house in New Orleans – how intricate and lovely. Well it is almost 20 hour so I’ll go down to eat – just happen to have some crusty French bread and some Brie (from Trader Joes!) but it will be good with a great Bourgogne wine.
Brie, I just love Brie...I never buy it, too fattening, too expensive....so much better than the 75% fat reduced cheese I buy at Trader Joe's....I'd love a Brie cake..with a lot of good crackers....
Cheese??!?!! That's cheese?? You constantly amaze me.
Dear CC,It would certainly be novel. I wonder which would have more calories...Dear Marilyn,I agree, yummmm!Dear Vagabonde,This is actually a real cake made out of real cheese but it's not a wedding cake but a display for the cheese booth. I think I created a lot of confusion by calling this a "Wedding Cake" in quotes. Wordless Wednesday has its drawbacks...I didn't realize that I posted about two faux cakes in one week. I think a supper of brie, crusty French bread and Bourgogne wine sounds like a capital idea!Dear melissashook,How about if you just buy a tiny piece? It's a shame to deny yourself completely. I'm sorry but 75% fat-reduced cheese does not sound yummy to me. Some crackers would be great about right now. Dear Relyn,Yessirrejoe, it is all cheese, real goat cheese. I did not make this "cake", the clever folks at Cypress Grove Chevre did.
Unique and beautiful!
From a wedding cake house, to a brie wedding cake. Unique and both quite enticing!
Dear lisaschaos,Indeed! Dear Ruth,I didn't realize I posted two faux wedding-cake posts until I started responding to comments here. Glad you like them!
wow! i wish i could have a cake like that for my wedding... ^_^
Dear Presto,Thank you for visiting dutchbaby. I remember when my parents used to cook in a Presto pressure cooker. Your canning supplies look very interesting also. I'm glad you like the cake.
Though it looks like Brie, it's Cypress Grove's own soft-ripened cheese, Humboldt Fog, Truffle Tremor and Bermuda Triangle. Thanks for posting.
Dear Anonymous,Thanks for clarifying. I love all Cypress Grove's delicious cheeses. I believe Humboldt Fog is food from the gods.
