Beautiful photograph Dutchbaby and apropos for the season!
Finally, I know when we will be in Nola. Unfortunately it won't be on a weekend. We will be there Nov 2~4 at the Hotel Monteleone. Even so, we will see if the Jesuit Church is open for prayer. So sorry for the chance to meet your George! Any chance that you might be there too? We are going to Herb Saint. So happy!
Happy Macro Monday~

A GREEN pumpkin! And why not. We're treating ourselves to fried green tomatoes on Thursday when we drive to nearby Juliette to eat at the Whistle Stop Cafe (from Fried Green Tomatoes). How fun is that. Oh, and I've got a package all ready to mail to you, as soon as we go by a post office this week. :)

Gorgeous Green Pumpkin! Love it! Do you own a glass pumpkin?

Ruth said...

It must take a great deal of effort to set all these out on display every year. I hope none break!

I remember your post from last year. There was such a great display of attractive and original pumpkins. You put me in the mood you know. We are going to see our grandchildren in Nashville – maybe I’ll buy a pumpkin and try to carve one this time – it must not be easy.

Dear Kala,
These glassblowers are impressive.

Dear Christina, Sweden,
I love green also and this shade of emerald green is so delicious!

Dear HOOTIN' ANNI,
I know how you feel! I already own too many - they are such a challenge to store.

Dear GrandmaK,
I hope you enjoy the tour of this year's crop.

Beste Maaike,
Ik vind ze ook zo mooi!

Dutchbaby said...

Dear CC,
Great idea! Please let me know if you need help getting your hands on one!

Dear tammymcchesney,
Glad you like it. I believe this one was made one of the glass blowers from Palo Alto High School.

Dutchbaby said...

Dear Caroline (Frogmum),
These pumpkins seem to be a regional specialty here. Welcome to Dutchbaby!

Dutchbaby said...

Dear pip,
I think a few of these would look great in your sock yarn shop! Welcome to Dutchbaby!

Dutchbaby said...

Dear Anki,
Yes, the deep green is what attracted me to this pumpkin also.

Dutchbaby said...

Dear Anki,
I forgot to welcome you to Dutchbaby!

Dear Lesa,
Welcome to you too! You can see many more colored glass pumpkins in the next post.

Dear Constance at rochambeau,
I am as green as this pumpkin with you being in New Orleans right now. I want to hear about all the fabulous meals you are enjoying!

Dutchbaby said...

Dear Susan,
Yes, that is the most perfect description of this shade of green!

Dear Ginnie,
A green pumpkin to match your Granny Towanda automobile!

The Giants World Series victory parade was this morning; I'm still pinching myself. I'm so sorry your Braves couldn't stand up to the mighty Giants. Thank you for being an honorable bettor and sending my winnings. I am going to be the hero this Sinterklaas when I can produce the proper chocolate letters for everyone in the family! Thank you, Ginnie!!!

Dear Marilyn,
Yes, I own a boxful of glass pumpkins. A few are hand-blown like these, but others are mass produced in molds. I love displaying them at this time of year.

Dutchbaby said...

Dear Ruth,
I've never been there during set-up, but I imagine it would be quite a production. Every year there are more participants and more pumpkins. I've only twice attended the frenzied last day, sale day. I did see a couple of pumpkins break then.

Dear Vagabonde,
I hope you had a chance to carve a pumpkin with your grandchildren. I find the carving part to be easier than hollowing it out.

Dutchbaby said...

Dear lisaschaos,
Glad you enjoyed your visit to the pumpkin patch!

Dear kath,
I think everyone should own at least one glass pumpkin. Yes, definitely more fun than a glass slipper.
