Dear Castle,
Isn't it so? I was so impressed with this tower.

Dear Kris,
Too bad they didn't offer any tastings.

Dear Susan,
You have the cutest phrases. I haven't heard "Heavens to Betsy" in ages.

Dear Marilyn,
Macaroons have become quite the trendy cookie.

Dear MAWB,
Oooh, that would be good!

Dear MAWB,
Oops, didn't see your verification comment. I instinctively thought the word was apropos because the Indonesian word for "eat" is "makan" (one of the few Indonesian words I still know.

I can't believe those are macaroons...they look too smooth and all those peculiar colors....but if they are, indeed, macaroons I'd eat every single one of them, two minutes flat...no, maybe a couple of hours, a few days, a week...and be happy...

They are macaroons made of ground almonds and loads of sugar. The colors can be attributed to the different flavors: pistachio, raspberry, chocolate, vanilla, and mocha. A tower like this would not last long around my house.
